IMMORTAL BOILERMAKER, 1903 PURDUE TRAIN WRECK, FOOTBALL TEAM CAPTAIN AUTOGRAPH. Harry Leslie was team captain of the Purdue Boilermaker football team in 1902 and 1903. He was also captain of the Baseball team in 1902. During the 1903 Purdue Train wreck, he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Later, While the mortician was preparing him for embalming, Harry twitched and was found to have a faint pulse. He recovered and was instrumental in raising funds for Memorial Hall. He later served as the first athletic director for Purdue in 1925 and was Governor of Indiana 1929-1933. 129-45
